September 21, 2018
Great news today for Methow Headwaters! The U.S. Forest Service has made a recommendation to the Bureau of Land Management to protect the Methow Headwaters landscape from industrial-scale mining. “This is an important and greatly appreciated step forward in protecting the rural character, spectacular landscapes, and clean water that support local prosperity and jobs,” said Maggie Coon of the Methow Headwaters Campaign. Read the full campaign statement here.
This important step would not have happened without the strong bipartisan support and leadership from Rep. Dan Newhouse and Senators Senator Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray – thank you! Stay tuned for a public meeting in the Methow Valley this fall. It will be critical to show the Bureau of Land Management robust support for protecting this incredible area and we hope you can join us!
